nashville weekend!

some good friends of mine rachel and paul came in town this past weekend, so much fun! i love having visitors in nashville. we came to the conclusion that our "vacation" revolved around food and eating places. friday night they arrived and we went to SATCO (san antonio taco company) for dinner...then to sweet cece's for some frozen yogurt. saturday we took a tour of the tennessee state museum, which was really interesting, and walked around downtown a little. we also got to see where our friend wesley works. then we went to noshville deli, a really good diner/cafe-type restaurant. they serve breakfast 24/7 and serve really good sandwiches. then we went to the green hills mall. we were so tired and stuffed that we didn't have much energy to shop very much, but we made it through most of the mall without passing out. then we went to downtown franklin and started to walk around, but most places were closing and it started to rain :( FINALLY we went to eat AGAIN...at jackson's. i had the best milkshake there. then we played "bang", a really fun game i have just learned! sunday we went to church, lunch at cafe coco, vball practice, and then dinner at germantown cafe.
can i just mention that every single one of the places we ate except for satco and cafe coco were all on a list of nashville's best restaurants in a little booklet we picked up. i love eating local.
SUCH a fun weekend, i am stuffed still from all of the good food we ate.
last night, my monday night small group watched the bachelor. we started chatting about our book we are going through- so long, insecurity- and we are trying out "prayer partners". every week we are paired with a different person and we pray for them during the week and meet with them at least once a week to encourage, pray, talk. i absolutely LOVE this idea and am very thrilled about it. i love the fellowship the Lord has brought for this group, and i think it is much needed in each of our lives right now. it just shows the omniscience and sovereignty and faithfulness of our God. i'm excited to see how the Lord will work in our lives and insecurities through this book and the friendships that have been established and continue to grow each week.
happy tuesday!!! and 3 days til friday, haha. yes, i am already counting down.
